Cap d’Erquy
Cap d’Erquy is a prominent cape that forms the northwestern tip of Baie des Trépassés. “Erquy” comes from the word “Aerked” in the Breton language which means “cap”.
To the west of the cape are two very different beaches: on one side, Erquy-Plage beach where there are several holiday homes; on the other side, the port of Erquy with its famous granite pier.
Facing the cape are also two islands of rocks, one covered with vegetation and the other completely bare.
Erquy benefits from a typical Breton maritime climate, humid and mild all year round. Fog is common in winter due to the effect of an Atlantic low on the cold waters of the Gulf Stream.

The port of Erquy is located at the foot of a granite outcrop.
